Author Guidelines

Before you begin

We appreciate your interest in publication in the Krakow Review of Economics and Management. In submission, you will be asked to upload files, identify co-authors, and provide information such as the title and abstract.

Please register. It will be necessary to submit your article and communicate with editors. If you have created the account, please log in.

Please make sure that you fulfil the general rules of publishing in this journal. Please read our text preparation guidelines if you have not done so already. When filling out the forms, provide as many details as possible to help our editors evaluate your work.

Once you begin, you can save your submission and return to it later. You can review and correct any information before you submit it.

After you have registered, the "My Account" page will appear. Select the link "Start a New Submission" or click make a new submission.

Remark. Due to the limited number of articles in each journal issue, please expect longer publication times. We publish 8 articles in one issue, 32 papers a year. The average publication time in 2024 is:

  • 35 days from submission to the first decision,
  • 393 days from submission to publication,
  • rejection rate (desk reject and after review) in 2023 was 68%.

We are working on optimizing the publishing process to shorten the waiting time.

Submission steps

Step 0. Starting the submission. Please enter the title (letter capitalization as in a sentence), choose the journal section, and accept the submission rules and privacy statement. 

Step 1. Details. Please check that the title was entered correctly. Add the abstract of the paper. Please follow the rules for the abstracts.

Step 2. Upload files. Upload as many files as necessary. Please add:

  • the full article text prepared for blind review in a correct template with all the figures and tables (file type: article text) - required,
  • the article's front page with author names, affiliations, and acknowledgements using a template (file type: front page) - required,
  • every figure/image in editable format (file type: image) - required if they exist,
  • data sets, source texts, etc.

Please ensure you are using correct British English. We encourage you to proofread the text before sending it or use tools like Grammarly.

After uploading the files, you can define the type of each one - click the "Edit" button near the file name.

Step 3. Contributors. Please add all the co-authors of the paper with affiliation and contact data. Additionally, edit information about you, e.g., add ORCID (required) or other data.

Step 4. For the editors. You can share any information with the editorial staff. A cover letter is not required.

Step 5. Review. Please review all the elements and ensure all the rules were followed correctly. Finally, confirm the copyright information and submit the paper. Note: until the "Finish Submission" button has been clicked, you can go back to the previous stages of the submission process and make changes.

Fees

Articles in the journal are submitted, accepted and published without any fees from the authors. The organization financing the journal's publication is the Krakow University of Economics, Poland.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The article is original, does not infringe the copyright of others and has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • Illustrations, diagrammes, and graphs should be attached to other materials to be sent to the publisher in a separate files.
  • The text is in two files using proper templates: front page (template) and blind article text (template).
  • The text adheres to the requirements outlined in the text preparation guidelines.
  • The article text does not contain any information enabling the identification of its author(s) except for the author’s/authors’ name(s), affiliation(s) and other information located in the separate "first page" file.
  • I agree to my article’s originality being verified in the Crossref Similarity Check service used by the editors of Krakow Review of Economics and Management / Zeszyty Naukowe Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Krakowie
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format, using proper templates.
  • The article's front page provides the percentage contribution of the author (authors) to the creation of the publication.
  • The article was prepared excluding any conflict of interest between the author(s) and other institutions, companies or organizations.

Privacy Statement

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal. They will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

According to Art. 13 of the General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data of April 26, 2016 (Journal of Laws UE L 2016, No. 119, hereinafter referred to as GDPR), we inform that:

  1. The Krakow University of Economics, with its seat in Krakow, ul. Rakowicka 27, 31-510 Kraków is the Administrator of personal data.
  2. The Data Protection Officer at the Krakow University of Economics is Dr. Mariusz Rozwadowski, e-mail address: ido.rodo@uek.krakow.pl.
  3. Your personal data will be processed to conduct direct marketing and send commercial information.
  4. Providing data is voluntary, but necessary to achieve the above-mentioned purposes.
  5. The data will be stored for the period necessary to achieve the above-mentioned purposes, but no longer than until the consent is withdrawn.
  6. You have the right to access your data and rectify, delete, and limit processing, the right to transfer data, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing.
  7. The recipients of personal data are:
    • persons authorized by the Administrator to process data as part of the performance of official duties,
    • entities commissioned by the Administrator to perform activities related to processing data.
  8. The data will not be subject to automated processing and profiling.
  9. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory body - the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection, based in Warsaw at ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw.
